We were blessed with some amazing weather for December on Emily & Justin’s wedding day. Normally it’s cold & gloomy but instead it was sunny & around 50 degrees! From the instant Caleb & I arrived at the church we could tell it was going to be an amazing day. As we were taking detail shots we heard lots of happy squeals & giggles down the hallway! (This was all before 10 am too!) I have to say that Emily was probably one of the happiest brides I’ve photographed! Her happiness was contagious and made everyone around her extremely happy! Usually you can sense a little stress on a wedding days but literally their day was so stress-free. Their wedding party was as blast too!! The guys were having a blast with photos and coming up with some fun poses. Emily & Justin had one of the sweetest 1st looks. I always tell my couples to pretend we aren’t there and these two did just that! They were completely focused on each other ( just as they should be!) Which made for such an amazing & genuine moment that I’m so glad I was able to capture! This is why I LOVE 1st looks!!! After their 1st look we went over to the Great Plains Nature Center to take some bride & groom portraits. I’m SO glad they were game for taking outdoor portraits because I love how they turned out! It was so relaxed & non rushed that it almost felt like it was just a normal portrait session not a wedding day! You can’t even tell that we took them at high noon which is not usually the prime time to take photos outside! ( light wise) Winter light is awesome like that though! Plus they even let me sneak them out for a quick 10 minutes during their reception for some gorgeous sunset photos!!! Emily & Justin’s day went SO incredibly smooth! It was truly an amazing day!! You could just feel the love all around!! I hope you enjoy their photos. Their happiness is contagious even through a computer screen!
